Without interent in my town, heat in my house or hot water, instead of watching my food rot in my dead fridge, I dragged myself to the nearest town , so I could shower, and use my interent. It was a long 7 day and very cold indeed. Makes you thankful for the basics of electricity
Of everything electricty gives us, I missed my home internet the most.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4125103167537250391.post-30252053627635671632011-09-08T10:10:53.983-04:002011-09-08T10:10:53.983-04:00I actually saw a larger version of the natural gas...I actually saw a larger version of the natural gas generator being installed on a session of Ask This Old House. Theirs also installed a new circuit breaker panel next to the regular one. The home owner was able to choose which rooms would maintain power also. Very cool gadget.

Now I hope it will be years again before you need this new toy.NoraAhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14820850644240626655noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4125103167537250391.post-50129194055950004362011-09-07T18:56:43.069-04:002011-09-07T18:56:43.069-04:00I'm like you I don't like losing power, es...I'm like you I don't like losing power, especially when it involved my Internet.Druhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07978384022143035332noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4125103167537250391.post-39739228951911890102011-09-07T15:31:38.847-04:002011-09-07T15:31:38.847-04:00Oops, there was supposed to be a ::grin:: after th...Oops, there was supposed to be a ::grin:: after that last comment!ponyswimgalhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16954750336015646359noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4125103167537250391.post-65386278804491550202011-09-07T15:30:18.814-04:002011-09-07T15:30:18.814-04:00After a straight-line windstorm the March before l...After a straight-line windstorm the March before last, we had 30+ trees down in a 6-block area around us. We lost power for nearly 4 days. In 95-degree plus heat. We had to go to a motel to cool down. Must have winnowed out most of the weak trees around, because we didn't lose power during Irene. (We live in NJ & 2.5 million people around us and NY & CT did.) We dream of the beautiful generator you describe. Too bloody bad it's out of our budget. However, enjoy the peace of mind yours will bring. (And, what did you say your address was in case our power goes off? )ponyswimgalhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16954750336015646359noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4125103167537250391.post-868415224898479012011-09-07T13:19:42.514-04:002011-09-07T13:19:42.514-04:00We've been very lucky in the 17 years we'v...We've been very lucky in the 17 years we've lived in NE PA. Our rural coop regularly butchers the trees around here, but we're happy about it when we hear that everyone else is without power but we have it. During Irene we only lost power for 2 hours!Barbarahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04179027379034179865noreply@blogger.com
