Who doesn't love chocolate?
Tricia received a box of chocolate. Not only was she tempted ... she actually ate some of it!
Tricia and Angelica leave Booktown behind for some much needed R&R. Naturally they choose a Mystery Lovers cruise, where they can ponder whodunnit in deck chairs while sipping colorful drinks and soaking up some rays. But the fun is cut short when a fellow passenger is murdered for real. Is the killer a famous mystery author, one of her fans, or a member of the ship’s crew? As Tricia tries to find the killer before they reach port, she may be cruising for a bruising...

Paying it forward ... with chocolate!
Today is usually Pet Peeve Thursday where I (or a friend) is given free reign to kvetch.
Not today, because yesterday Mr. L and I were the recipients of a lovely gesture.
We'd gone to the grocery store to stock up on life-sustaining supplies (you know, the usual: cornmeal, gunpowder, ham hocks, and guitar strings).
As the woman in front of us finished her transaction, she turned to Mr. L and handed him a heart-shaped box of Valentine chocolates and said, "Have a happy Valentines Day."
Flabbergasted, Mr. L said, "What?" And again she said, "Have a happy Valentine's Day," and walked away.
Whoa! How lovely was that?
Instead of paying it forward with chocolate, we're going to pay it forward with a donation to the local food bank and hope if the recipients don't have a happy Valentine's Day, they'll at least have a happy St. Paddy's day.
How do you pay it forward?

Sweet memories on Quality Street
When I was a kid, you only got some of these wonderful chocolates if you went to England or Canada. (We had relatives in England, and we went to Canada!)
When Mr. L and I first started dating, he visited friends in Canada and asked what he could get his first generation American sweetheart. They said, "Quality Street." Boy, did he win points.
So, is it any wonder that I collect Quality Street tins?
These are the four oldest tins in my collection. (I have nine.)
Nowadays, you can get Quality Street in the US. They're now made by Nestles (and I'm sure many people will say they aren't half as good as they used to be), but I still love them because they evoke such sweet memories.
My brother gave me a jar of them for Christmas and I decided to see just how much one of the old tins can hold. Not much, it turns out. (About a third of the jar.)
Aren't they gorgeous?
Did you get candy for Christmas?
